The Select Board is commonly the executive arm of the government of New England towns in the United States. The Bridport Select Board consists of five members, with staggered terms. Select Board members serve part-time, with a token salary. In Bridport, as in most New England towns, the adult voting population gathers annually in a town meeting to act as the local legislature, approving budgets and laws. The Select Board meets the second Monday evening of each month at the Town Offices at 6 p.m.
